Menwith Hill Women's Peace Camp

The annual Women’s Peace Camp at Menwith Hill
11th and 12th of December

The camp is to mark the anniversary of Margaret Thatcher announcing the deployment of Trident and Cruise Missiles in Britain, and to oppose the presence of the US spy base at Menwith Hill and is organised by Helen John.

As the British Government have indicated that a decision will be made during the next Parliament on the replacement of Trident – the British Nuclear weapons system, it is now more vital than ever that we show our opposition to war, the occupation of Iraq, nuclear weapons and the US bases in our region.

Yorkshire CND will be organising transport up to the peace camp from across Yorkshire. Please contact sarah@yorkshirecnd.org.uk or on 01274 730795. Please also get in touch if you are coming from outside Yorkshire to give an indication of numbers.

Go to http://www.cndyorks.gn.apc.org/mhs/wpcmhs.htm and http://www.cndyorks.gn.apc.org/mhs/index.htm  to see more about Menwith Hill and the Women’s Peace Camp.

The camp is a great opportunity for women to come together and learn more about the role of women in the Peace Movement and to discuss and take action against the military base.
