STOP 'STAR WARS' AND STOP THE BOMBING OF IRAQ
 
Demonstration at NSA Menwith Hill North Yorkshire

  • 11.30 Legal briefing workshop at Main entrance

  • 12 md - Assemble at Main Gate of Menwith Hill (this is temporarily closed because of construction work)

  • 12.30 pm Speaker: Diana Wallis Liberal Democrat MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber

  • 1pm Speaker:  Ann Cryer Labour MP Keighley

Ann will rededicate the tree that was planted in 1994 in memory of Bob Cryer MP who was tragically killed in a car accident.  For many years Bob worked tirelessly to bring public scrutiny and accountability to Menwith Hill.  The tree was moved from one side of the main entrance to the other during extended road works.

  • Food for sale from Veggies of Nottingham throughout the demonstration

  • Music and drumming (Paul Dear and friends)

  • Send a message in space with a balloon...............

  • 2 pm Walk round the base - stopping at various points to talk about the history, role and function of Menwith Hill (key role in STAR WARS and possible US led war against Iraq)

  • Anytime throughout the day and beyond people are encouraged to take non-violent civil disobedience re 'STAR WARS' and the possible WAR AGAINST IRAQ

  • 4 pm Demonstration ends.........

Lots of people needed to voice opposition to the US militarisation of Space and on earth the US military plans to bomb Iraq
